Yorkshire and the Humber has 56 Development Trusts, encompassing a fantastic diversity of communities and activities.
Goodwin. Goodwin Development Trust launched the first Community Warden scheme in the UK, overseeing a 50% reduction in local crime. It is now “Scheme of the Year” and employs 55 people across Hull. About us Whatever the focus - green space development, managed workspace, education and training, childcare, and many more - you will find countless examples of best practice in our region, including the award-winning Manor and Castle Development Trust. Co-ordinated by our regional staff, we also have a well-established network. This exists at both a local and regional level. Once or twice a year our “larger trusts” get together for a short residential to shared good practice and discuss the critical issues facing the sector. We have worked with East Midlands region on a joint conference for the increasing number of rural trusts registered with us. And we have regular network meetings in three of our Development Trust “hotspots” of Sheffield, Hull and Bradford, where we are making significant progress towards the DTA aim of having a “Development Trust in every community that wants one”.
