Advancing Assets for Communities - Round Three
We are pleased to announce the launch of the programme's third round, through which we will demonstrate in 22 selected areas how local authorities and community-led third sector organisations can be supported to develop joint plans for community asset transfer.
Following Rounds One and Two of the Demonstration Programme that have been running since May 2007, we are pleased to announce the launch of Round Three. As in previous rounds, the Advancing Asset for Communities programme will demonstrate in selected local authority areas how local authorities and local community-led third sector organisations can be supported to develop joint plans for asset transfer, in line with the recommendations of the Quirk Review, and to begin to implement them within specific projects.
The demonstration programme is funded by Communities & Local Government as part of implementing the conclusions of the Quirk Review ‘Making Assets Work’ [2007], and forms a key component of the work to be progressed by the Asset Transfer Unit. It is led by the Development Trusts Association and delivered in partnership with Community Matters, the Local Government Association and ACRE.
In this next round we will be working with a further 22 local authorities across England, contributing in each place around 10 days of free, tailored consultancy advice and support.
