Conservative Policy Review

The DTA was approached by Greg Clarke, Conservative front bench spokesperson on the voluntary and community sector, and we briefed him on development trusts and our manifesto proposals. We have also had similar discussions with Oliver Letwin, who is in charge of the Conservative policy review. This review is the result of the work of a number of policy groups which have produced reports in six key policy areas, describing the nature and extent of the challenges.

Final recommendations and policy proposals ae expected to come out later this year. The 'third sector working group' has published a report on the role of the third sector in fighting poverty in the UK, this may be of particular relevance to the work of development trusts.
