Charity Commission's report on Regenerations Charities
In 1999 the Charity Commission made a landmark decision to recognise regeneration as a legitimate charitable objective. This report looks at a sample of regeneration charities in detail
The Charity Commission recognised urban & rural regeneration as a charitable purpose in its own right in 1999. This report is the result of research carried out between October 2006 and February 2007 with 50 regeneration charities from a broad geographical spread over England and Wales. The total annual income of the regeneration charities visited was £41,684,694, total annual expenditure was £35,339,526, and the annual income bracket ranged from £10,000 to £10million.
