Confident Communities was the theme for the DTA's conference this year. The event explored how to achieve Confident Communities by tackling poverty, promoting diversity, and the encouragement of enterprise and asset based development.

Keynote Speech from Hazel Blears (mp3):
The Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government was a keynote speaker at the conference. She praised the work of development trusts as ‘community anchors’, and called for every council to introduce participatory budgeting, where local people decide on spending, within five years.

The Secretary of State for Communities & Local Government was a keynote speaker at the conference. She expressed her support for the movement, and promised ‘less conversation and more action’ to pass power to local communities.
Interview with Neil Stott (mp3):
Neil Stott is Chief Executive of the Keystone Development Trust in Thetford. He was a Keynote Speaker at the conference and addressed the audience on the importance of promoting diversity and engaging with all groups in sharing power and resources.
Plenary Speeach by Lorraine Hart (mp3):
Lorraine Hart is from the Environment Trust where she has been working on a range of issues including asset base development. She is the Author of numerous books and articles on the subject of asset transfer and asset development, including "To Have and To Hold".
